A final study, which investigated anabolic steroid use and elevated C-reactive protein levels, suggested a possible association between anabolic steroids and C-reactive protein \[[@CR32]\]. Conclusions of this study indicated no statistically significant difference between anabolic steroid users and C-reactive protein level.
